What do you like about working for Health@Work?

The flexibility it gives to me to be able to spend quality time with my family.

What one goal would you like to complete this year?

To enjoy life more and make the most of it

What’s your specialism and why did you decide to take that route?

Health and Safety; I worked initially as a chemist for a large blue chip company and during my time here fell into health and safety, through my time as a Trade Union representative. When the opportunity came, I jumped at the chance at working as a Health and safety consultant.

What one bit of advice would you give to your younger self?

Do what you love, not what you’re told to love.

What area do you cover and why do you like working there?

I cover the whole of England and Ireland when required. I love getting out and about, seeing different parts of the country and meeting different people.

What book would you recommend others read and why?

I don’t read that much, but love a good movie.

Why should businesses care about employee health, safety wellbeing?

To make a high performance engine work efficiency, smoothly and with hassle, we need to ensure we look after it, feed it well, service it appropriately and fix it immediately when an issue occurs. Employees are the engine of every business, treat them well, look after them and they will look after the business.

Where’s your must-visit destination and what’s so attractive about it?

Niagara Falls. I have been a numerous occasions and it never fails to amaze me. Just such a beautiful place seeing the power, but also really relaxing and peaceful at the same time.
